Style My Stock: The Piped Jacket

Hannah Childs

We're back with another edition of "Style My Stock", where we show you our picks for unique styling for your coat!

First up is a whimsical fabric in a traditional pattern. We love the contrast of this black and white fleur de lis fabric with a black coat and is perfect for the rider who wants to stand out without being over the top. The white piping pops against the crisp white of the stock tie background. Fleur de lis not your thing? This would be equally stunning with our black and white polka dot Style Stock!

Our white on white polka dot Style Stock goes with every jacket, but we wanted to feature it here. The white piping on the coat is so stunning on its own that it doesn't necessarily need a loud stock tie. We love the classic nature of this tonal polka dot fabric in crisp white cotton. Available in un-tied, pre-tied, and children's!

We launched this new collection earlier this week, but absolutely had to feature it here. Taken from our Classic Bling collection, we designed these stunning stocks with navy and black crystals. They are available in pre-tied, euro and have lovely pocket scarves to match! We love these stocks for their minimalistic style, but the touch of sparkle makes them pop in the sunlight as you trot down centerline.

Last but certainly not least is our Pink Garden Rose Style Stock. We love the sweet, feminine look of this floral against the crisp, classic black and white piped coat. If pink isn't your thing, this stunning brocade is also available in lavender, white, and silver.

What would you style with this coat? Let us know in the comments below!

Style My Stock: The Tweed Jacket

Hannah Childs

Gone are the days of the plain white stock tie as the only option on the market. While we love the look of a crisp white stock (especially in unique textures or patterns), there are so many ways to style your stock tie. One of the most frequent things we hear from customers is that they love switching up their Style Stock to suit their mood; it's an easy way to get a new look, without the price of purchasing a new coat or breeches. Because of this, we are introducing "Style My Stock", a new segment of our blog where we will feature one coat styled four ways. First up this week, we have a classic tweed coat with hues of brown, charcoal and navy, perfect for cubbing season. Read on to see our styling thoughts, or click on the photos to shop!

 Metallic Silver Paisley Silk Brocade

While this luxurious metallic silk brocade fabric and tweed might not be your first thought to match up, we love the juxtaposition of a feminine metallic paired with this handsome tweed. The silver in the stock tie coordinates with the grey hues in the tweed, and is accented with our Signature Swarovski Solitaire Pin.

Gold Polka Dot Silk Brocade

Similar to our love for the tweed with metallic paisley brocade above, we chose this pairing for its unexpected combination of luxe silk with rich tweed. Because of the different shades of brown and rust in the coat, the metallic gold works equally as well as the silver, but in a less ornate pattern.

Red Tattersall

Designed specifically with cubbing season in mind, our tattersall stock ties pair beautifully with tweed and solid coats alike. We love the combination of the color tones in this tweed with the reds, brown and creams in our Red Tattersall Style Stock. Pair with our Signature Swarovski Solitaire Pin or one of our unique vintage finds.

Soft White Flecks Silk

This sumptuous fabric has been part of our line since we launched our first collection. With its classic look and crisp feel, our Soft White Flecks Style Stock sits beautifully with every coat color, but there is something special about the look when paired with tweed.

What do you think about the combinations above? Would you choose the same pairings or pick your own with one of our other stock ties? Let us know in the comments below!

Jog Style- Rolex Three Day Event

Hannah Childs

Rolex is fast approaching and we are so excited to see the amazing horses and riders doing their thing in the ring and out on cross-country, but one of our absolute favorite parts of the weekend is watching them strut their stuff on the runway. We’re talking about the jogs, of course! The shiny coats, the sparkling clean bridles, the inevitable shenanigans from super fit ponies, and the OUTFITS!

Chic and timeless style is kind of our jam here at Style Stock, but we also love keeping up with trends. We think our stock ties are way too pretty to be relegated to the dressage and show jumping rings only, so we thought why not incorporate them into jog outfits, too? Here are a few ideas to get some extra mileage out of your Style Stocks.

Modern 70s

70s styles have dominated the runways recently, and we think the retro look is a perfect trend to bring to the jog lane. Put on a pair of flared trousers, a tweed jacket, and Metallic Gold Polka Dot Brocade Style Stock.

Sporty-Chic

Sporty-Chic is a trend we can totally get behind, and hey it is called the JOG after all! Jogger pants and a printed bomber jacket would look cool with the White with Silver and Metallic Pinstripes Style Stock.

Lady-like Pastels

Pastels are always a go-to for Spring. Pair our Lavender Garden Rose Brocade Style Stock with a pretty lavender blouse and a swingy grey skirt. Side note: if you’re going to wear a skirt, go for knee-length or midi. No wardrobe malfunctions, please!

Borrowed From the Boys

We have to admit, the boys always look so dapper at the jog! Show them up with a dashing menswear-inspired ensemble featuring the Navy and White Polka Dot Style Stock

The Classic

Like I mentioned earlier, we’re really suckers for a classic look. You can never go wrong with the old stand-by black and white! Slim black pants and a crisp white shirt would look great spruced up with the Metallic Silver Criss Cross Style Stock.

Inspired by spring

Hannah Childs

As a designer, I am inspired by nearly all aspects of life from art, to fashion, to history, to nature, to literature and beyond. This season I wanted to keep the classic, elegant styling that we've become known for, but provide a fresh take. I was so inspired by the gorgeous, bountiful blooms of the season that I wanted our collection to epitomize spring.

Valentine's Day Love

Hannah Childs

Hi Everyone! I'm Hannah, the owner and creator of Style Stock. I'm so excited to introduce our new blog, and hope you enjoy reading it as much as I love writing it. Aside from running my business and enjoying time with my horse Harry (Harry Potter if we are being formal), I have a huge passion for baking, cooking, working out, crafting and so much more. I want to share tid bits of my life as an entrepreneur, behind the scenes of the Style Stock brand, and inspiration for my fellow equine lovers. If you have questions or comments, please share them below, or email me at hannah@stylestock.co .

If I'm being completely honest, Valentine's Day has never been one of my favorite holidays. There's something calculated and cliché about it that turns me off. However, when it comes to my horse, I will take any excuse to celebrate how much I absolutely adore him! Enter: homemade horse cookies. These babies are SUPER easy, and are totally horsey approved. Of course I couldn't just bring some for him, I had to include his roommate and best friend!

Recipe:

Makes 8 treats

-1 1/4 cup rolled oats

-1/2 cup honey

-3/4 cup flour

-1 tbsp cinnamon

-1/4 cup water

-1 large carrot, shredded

-8 peppermints

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a muffin tin with 8 paper liners.

Step 2: In a medium bowl, mix rolled oats and honey until evenly coated. Add flour, cinnamon, water and shredded carrot until incorporated.

Step 3: Evenly distribute mixture to 8 muffin tins (approx. 1/4 cup in each) and press to condense mixture to the bottom of the tins.

Step 4: Bake for 15 mins, remove from the muffin tins and place on a wire rack to cool. Immediately press peppermints into the centers.

Let the spoiling and kisses for our favorite people (four legged creatures?) on the planet begin!

Hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Hannah
