Olivia grew up in Northern California doing dressage and eventing on whatever horses she could find to ride. She trained with Sandy Howard who was based in Watsonville, CA and Heidi Riddle, based in Martinez, CA. Through Sandy and Heidi, she was given a strong foundation in rider biomechanics and quality horsemanship, and with their guidance competed a number of horses through Training level eventing and 3rd level dressage. In 2002, she moved to Europe after graduating high school and spent 3 years working for Egbert Kraak; during this time she worked my way up to the position of Head Rider, before moving on to work for Canadian team rider Christilot Boylen and Retimeister Udo Lange, German Olympian Ulla Salzgeber and Spanish Riding School Bereiter Ernst Hoyos. She returned home to Northern California in 2007 to take a job as the Head Rider of a large boarding and breeding facility. In 2009 she was recruited by Egbert to ride and train sales horses in Kentucky, which gave her access to the Florida competition scene. She moved to Virginia in 2013 and she and her husband completed construction on their farm last month. After earning the traveling reserve spot for the 2014 Pan Am games small tour, she moved Lono up to the Grand Prix CDI classes in Florida this previous winter, and will be aiming for a spot on the 2018 WEG team.
